Microsoft releases Internet Explorer 9

Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 9.  Only available on Windows 7 and Vista, there are no plans to release a version for Windows XP.

IE9 promises speeds similar to, or better than, Firefox and Google Chrome, as well as maximising screen real estate and enhancing privacy. This is Microsoft’s first browser to fully support HTML5.

Previous releases of Internet Explorer have been criticised by web developers due to their somewhat esoteric adherence to web standards; Internet Explorer 9 promises to mitigate these criticisms.
