Fujitsu cloud platform launching in US

It’s over a year since Fujitsu announced its cloud platform since when it has launched in Japan, Singapore, Australia and the UK.

Fujitsu’s US cloud platform will launch on 31st May 2011, initially in beta, leading to full launch at the end of August 2011.

Whilst the Fujitsu UK cloud platform has a 30 day free trial period, the US platform is free until start of the full launch.

Fujitsu will naturally be looking to enter the enterprise with its platform, with particular focus on the big enterprise concerns of availability and security. Microsoft Windows, RedHat Linux and CentOS Linux are supported operating systems. To compete with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Fujitsu’s cloud platform can be managed using a self-service portal. APIs allow third-party developers to access hosted resources.
